One of the World's Best Cricketers Ever

Sir Richard Hadlee is New Zealand's greatest cricketer. Internationally, he competed with Ian Botham, Kapil Dev and Imran Khan for recognition as best all-rounder and with Dennis Lillee for recognition as the greatest fast bowler ever.

Sir Richard Hadlee played 86 test matches for New Zealand over 18 years. When he captured his 374th test wicket on 12th of November, 1988, against India in Bangalore, he became the world record holder. He went on to become one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of the game, as he captured 431 test wickets and scored over 3000 test runs.

For his consistently brilliant performances, he was awarded overall "Sportsman of the Eighties" and in 1990 Sir Richard was awarded a Knighthood for services to cricket.

Sir Richard Hadlee continues to play an active role in international cricket as a commentator on radio and television and as an expert on cricket in general and New Zealand cricket in particular. We look forward to having him speak with us on Saturday 9th February, 2018 at our 125th Jubilee formal dinner. Register your place today.
